I created this promo film during the first 3 weeks of the 12 week course to attract interest in this way of life and attract more students.
The 3 month Permaculture and Eco-build course was combined with theory modules run by the resident soil scientist.
At this stage of the course everything was running smoothly and Covid-19 was a 'foreign' news story and hardly mentioned.

Community Feature Film
I created this film in 2000 at Suryalila in Andalusia during what became the first wave of the Covid-19 pandemic.
I was participating in and documenting a 3 month Permaculture and Eco-build course when the pandemic emerged.
A wonderful team of students and teachers lived together in this yoga community working the land through cycles of growth and completing from scratch an eco-build cob house.
Milky Way Time-lapse
I shot this time-lapse over Suryalila in 2000 during the first covid-19 lockdown whilst living in this yurt with my campervan beside. It was picked up and used by BBC Breakfast and The Times Online.
I had to manually wipe the lens every 30 seconds to remove the mist from the glass, and do it quickly before the next shutter opening.
I was freezing and wet from the mountain dew as i sat there for 6 hours throughout the night unable to move far as I had to manually press the trigger every 30 seconds.
